TDSC Wins Heartland Division
U15 & U17 College Showcase Girls KC League Champions

The TDSC U-17 girls finished the season 6-0-2 in league play, outscoring their opponents 26-4.  The girls started their day in good fashion, putting four past Metro Elite.  Marin and Rachel both had two goals, while Lauren capped off the scoring.  The only goal from Metro Elite came when the referee called a questionable hand ball inside the box for a consolation goal.

The U-17 girls had their warm up game and showed MSA United just what Springfield had to offer when the second game rolled around.  Rachel again hit twice, but Lauren was in goal scoring mode hitting MSU United for four.  Finishing with 20 points the TDSC team finishes atop the Heartland Division and will have two weeks before heading back to Kansas City for the MIssouri Mule Tournament in Blue Springs.

The TDSC U-15 girls were also in Kansas City, this time playing on turf for the first time.  The cold, windy Kansas City weather affected the play, which ended 0-0 at half against Metro Elite Blitz.  Emily was taken down inside the box in the second half, and the midfielder stepped up to take her own penalty to give TDSC the lead.  Hannah  put the game to rest with Brittany providing the assist.

The U-15’s were told pre-game what was expected from them in Head Coach Chris Hanlon’s pregame speech, and the result needed to be a win.  After a scoreless first half, Brittany again turned provider setting up Jordyn for the game winning goal over the KC Outlaws.

Emily slotted into goal in the second half of the first game, joining Sarah for two clean sheets.  Sarah was in goal during the second game, notching her second clean sheet of the game.  Finishing 6-0-2, the U-15 defense, largely comprised of 7th and 8th graders playing up, only allowed in four goals throughout the League.  The U-15 strike force finished with 22 goals to the team.
