Be sure to get your summer started off the right way, by kicking it into gear for summer soccer fun! In an effort to provide more soccer during the summer months, the Total Demize SC will be hosting a two-day clinic on June 3-4 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The purpose for the clinic is to ensure that young athletes are able to get the extra practice that will help them excel. The camp will focus on the following aspects: Speed & Agility, Technical Skills and Finishing. Each area will be focused on for two full hours over the course of the camp. The end of each day will finish with a game like situation that will allow the athletes to utilize their new found strengths. Don’t worry goalkeepers, we have not forgotten about you! Keepers will be given special attention by Chris Hanlon, and brought into both the shooting drills and the game’s at the end the day.
The coaches for the Total Demize Soccer Clinic will be Andrew Vorce, Dan Ortega and Dean Grey. All three of these coaches play for the Springfield Demize, and are involved in coaching the Total Demize SC. Vorce and Ortega play both Premier Development League and Premier Arena Soccer League with the Springfield Demize. Grey has captained the PDL squad in his first ever game for the club. Grey is also the Head Coach of the Demize Reserve program, while Ortega and Vorce serve as Assistant Coaches.
Registration for the camp will begin at 8:15 a.m. on June 3rd. The Clinic will be held at the Taco Bell turf fields on the Missouri State University campus, at the corner of Cherry and National. Please pack your child with all necessary soccer equipment and a snack. The Coaching Staff will be providing water and sun screen throughout the clinic. There will be many water breaks throughout the morning to ensure proper hydration, plus a snack break half way through the day. Throughout the water breaks, the Coaching Staff will have juggling contests to win small prizes, as well as many other fun games. A tentative schedule of the camp is as follows:
